Prospective authors

If you are an Orthodox Christian catechist, pastor, educator, or scholar we are interested in receiving your book proposal. We publish both popular level books and academic monographs and edited volumes. Primarily, we are interested in publishing catechetical works aimed at inquirers and catechumens, as well as books on Orthodox theology, spirituality, liturgics, philosophy, aesthetics, and history. We are committed to producing affordable, aesthetically pleasing, volumes and to helping our authors promote their books. We typically only consider popular-level manuscripts that are 20,000 - 40,000 words in length and academic manuscripts that are 50,000 - 120,000 words in length. Please carefully read through the submission guidelines below before submitting a proposal. â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹

Popular Level Submissions:

For a popular-level book proposal to be considered, the author must meet the following criteria:

  • Be an Orthodox Christian in good standing with the Church.

  • Must possess an advanced degree (an MA or PhD) in theology, philosophy, or a relevant field.

    • In some cases, we are willing to consider proposals submitted by someone without an advanced degree (e.g., we may consider proposals submitted by monastics, clergymen, pastoral aids, youth pastors, etc.). But even in these cases we would prefer that our authors possess advanced theological or philosophical training.
